Christmas Carols and Last-Second Gifts

549 Bloomfield Avenue (north side, between Park Street and Maple Plaza Parking Lot), Montclair, will feature singers of Opera Theatre of Montclair at an in-store event on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2016, 7-10 PM. We will present concert versions of Christmas Carols as well as happy arias (no one dies!) A very special appearance will be made by OTM's Principal Harp, Violetta Norrie, who is visiting us for only two weeks as she takes a break from studies at Paris Conservatoire. NO RESERVATIONS REQUIRED - just stop in! Shoshone Stewart, the owner of ESBB, promises fun unisex stocking stuffers for sale, light refreshments and DISCOUNTS on her beautiful clothing, jewelry and furniture to anyone making a donation to Opera Theatre of Montclair. A portion of all sales that night will also be donated to OTM. Shoshone has also very generously offered to help us costume OTM's September 2017 production of Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella).

OPERA THEATRE OF MONTCLAIR presents a program dedicated to the music of the Bel Canto Period of Italian Opera featuring arias and ensembles by Bellini, Donizetti and Rossini. Join us for this fun and educational evening as OTM’s professional singers take us on a musical journey back to the early 19th century. Bel canto literally means “beautiful singing” and refers to the legato style which also utilizes embellishments such as rapid-fire runs and trills to decorate the vocal lines.
This program will include excerpts from Bellini's I Puritani and La Sonnambula; Donizetti's Anna Bolena, L'Elisir d'Amore, Lucia di Lammermoor and Lucrezia Borgia; Rossini's La Cenerentola, L'Italiana in Algieri and Semiramide.
